It wouldn't be right to use green in our company name if it did't represent our ethics and our beliefs. Its not a mission statement, but we like to do our bit for the community and for the environment. We work with a number of local bodies and organisations to help us achieve our objectives. We are always adding to this list, endeavouring to reduce, reuse and recycle our waste and support our community.

Cyrenians

Edinburgh Cyrenians is an independent charity that has operated with continuous steady growth and success since 1968. Cyrenians provides solutions to poverty and homelessness and works towards a Scotland that makes room for all. The charity has won awards for volunteer involvement and our creative engagement with the business community. In its 2008 report into homelessness, the research and donor advice company, New Philanthropy Capital recommended Edinburgh Cyrenians as one of the 9 most effective homelessness charities in the UK.
pickledgreen is proud to work closely with Cyrenians to help those who have suffered at the hands of alcohol and drug abuse, as well as homelessness, gain core skills and work experience.

CORE

pickledgreen works continuously to ensure that waste is kept to a minimum. This is achieved through careful ordering, menu writing and portion control. However, it’s almost impossible to create zero waste in a restaurant scenario. Therefore, any food waste that we do create, for example leftovers, is collected, processed and used as fertiliser by Cyrenians Organic Recycling Enterprise (CORE)
